Thousands of children every year are diagnosed with some kind of disability or special needs. Their loved ones and friends are often at a loss to explain those special needs to other children in a kid-friendly way. As a Christian it can be hard to understand why God allows children to be born with disabilities. Different Means Blessed is a tool that can help answer both questions. Different means Blessed is the true life story of my son Teal'c Lillis. As told through his eyes (if he could speak) His health issues, physical and developmental disabilities have brought both hard times and blessings into our family. Through it all, we have pulled together and leaned on the Lord Jesus Christ for strength. While we do not know what the future holds for our little Teal'c we know for certain that our futures are secure in Jesus Christ. We know that God uses all things to the good of them that love Him. (Romans 8:28) By reading this book, young children can be introduced to Teal'c and learn about some of his needs. It can also help young children to understand how to interact with other children who have disabilities. Different Means Blessed also answers with Scripture how God feels about children with disabilities.
