Ice Cream Daydreams and Strawberry Scented Kisses Simon C Lord

Devlin De Vine isn't anything special. He's just your average kinda guy. When he looks in the mirror he sees a slightly balding, moderately overweight Danny Devito Lookalike that still has a youthfull twinkle in his eye. He's had enough of his simple mechanical life. He's forgetful, argumentative and people always seem to be either yelling or laughing at him for one blunder or another. To compensate for his failings in the real world, Devlin writes a book of his life in order to gain some clarity to the deluded dreams of a young boy. At 40, he realises that the"secret life plan" he once had was just a series of fantasies, in which he is a powerful, decisive man, admired by those around him - everything he is not in reality. Ice Cream Daydreams is an insinuating, humourous, yet bittersweet tale exploring the tangible connections between fantasy and dreams, reminding us to look for deeper, emotional connections between them. No more will Devlin passively wait for life to pass him by, he becomes a man of action and takes matters into his own hands. If you fancy a chewing the lemon rind at the bottom of Martini Glass take a read ..... but be prepared to face some of your own fears
