Arriving early for her first practice, Callie and her new friends are completely mesmerized as they stare through the lobby window into the classroom. Two unknown dancers, who appear to be sisters, are performing a portion of what looks like an On Stage company number - and with demonstrative ease! From the friendly manner Ms. Elizabeth extends toward the mother of the two girls, it is clear that the members of this family are neither strangers, nor new students. Recognizing the curiosity that the girls' presence generates among the gathering On Stage students, the trio takes leave, with a promise to keep in touch. So distracted is Callie by the display of dance ability she witnesses, that pre-practice warm-ups are well underway before Callie notices the conspicuous absence of her archenemy, Lori McKenna, who though spoiled and often nasty, is an extremely talented dancer on a quest to be front and center in all things dance related. Would Lori's attitude toward Callie be any different from last year now that Callie is officially a company member? And what would Lori think of these girls? Where did they come from? Why are they here? And why does Ms. Elizabeth look so happy? But as answers to these questions unfold, will Callie like what she finds?
