It was autumn in the northern land of The Shining Mountains. A young Cree maiden, daughter of chief White Thunder Cloud, had just turned sixteen and in love. Her future shone before her as the sunlight pouring through parting clouds. Suddenly, by a violent twist of fate, she is cast out of her tribe and forbidden to return, by her own father.
