Publisher Marketing: I'd much rather write fiction than to go back over eighty plus years looking for something worth putting down on paper about myself. After I started writing, I found my own life before marriage pretty dull and my personal want was to simply quit. But there were a couple of people who keep telling me I needed to do this, that it would give the generations coming along behind me a glimpse of what life-not just mine, but my generation-was like in the thirties and forties, the years which gilded my eighteen years of childhood So here goes-a few pages of my childhood memories as best I can remember them. Granted, they will be different than anything in the lives of those reading this, but it's the way things were back then, and for the most part I'm glad to have been a part of it. Things were slower-paced, people were friendlier and always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need. Making big money didn't seem the major concern; caring for your family with what you had and the grace of God was. This book is about my childhood from as early as I can remember, pulling bits and pieces from the past to the time I stepped into adult life, marrying my Prince Charming at the age of eighteen. In other words, my growing up years. Contributor Bio:  Terhune, Charlotte Charlotte Terhune was born an artist and raised in a small town in Northwestern Missouri, graduating with dubious honor of Most Unique in her class. When she was there the town was going strong. When she moved away at nineteen, the town immediately started to shrivel up. It's not her fault. She has lived with her husband in the Seattle area for close to forty years. A native Seattlite, he met Charlotte while attending college in her hometown, and ended up bringing her back with him. Otherwise he wouldn't be able to find where he put anything, and she'd still be looking for somebody who could deal with her ideosyncracies and keep her semi-normal. Together they have raised two sons (one of whom has his own son now), a bunch of dogs and cats, and three possums. The possums were the best behaved. Charlotte is an accomplished artist, currently working mostly in watercolor but she's practiced in other media as well. She has maintained a home-based graphic design business called Semi-Serious Artist for over twenty years. In addition, she has written several books, and illustrated a few. The first one was for a Girl Scout badge. Most of them have not been published, and at least one of them is not fit for public consumption.
