The boroughs of Barnesboro and Spangler in Western Pennsylvania were separated only by a railroad track; but during the week preceding the Armistice Day clash between the 2 high school football teams, they were miles apart. For 30 years, the game resembled a civil war, pitting neighbor against neighbor and brother against brother in the coal-mining towns of Northern Cambria County. This book is a history of football in that area and features every game played by the 2 advisories.
