Elizabeth Hoagland grew up in a small town where few envisioned living in countries such as Spain or New Zealand, or pursuing a life filled with adventure. While many of the choices Elizabeth was making seemed exciting they were not abiding to the norm, this intrigued her but it also scared her. Was she supposed to be living like that, was she doing the right thing, was she doing what her family expected of her? Such questions can lead good people to their downfall, especially people like Elizabeth who took comfort in following the rules and pleasing others. Her adventures were not unlike many fellow travelers who valued exposure to new things, but what allowed her to embrace such an unconventional lifestyle was unique.
