Starlet Scandal
Anne Elliot Moore
In college, two young women are each struggling with their own personal pasts. One is trying to achieve a life beyond the ghetto and drug addiction by throwing herself into her passion for theater. The other is the daughter of a strict, wealthy family who is desperately trying to prove she can make it as an artist. The two become roommates when they decide to join a sorority. Despite initial tensions it quickly leads to romance.
While their relationship is sweet at first, pressure from Lana's family and Carina's inability to quit drugs drives the couple apart - an overdose forces Carina to join rehab. The two meet later in New York when Lana's artwork is shown at a museum where Carina is on a date with her husband. Friendly chats end up reverting back into intense passion as they spend more time together, leaving them both open to backlash from their rekindled relationship
