A Thousand and One Theory Test Questions: for Trainee Driving Instructors
James Duggan
Publisher Marketing: This 'It's a Drivers World' book has primarily been prepared with trainee A. D. I.s in mind who are preparing for their A. D. I. part one multiple choice element of the Theory Test. However, it will be of great value to those trainees who want to refine their driving theory for the part two practical driving test and their instructional skills for their part three 'Test of Instructional Ability'. Fully qualified instructors will find it an essential revision tool when preparing for and undergoing their 'Check Test' and a useful means of keeping in touch when giving tuition to learner drivers. Its' main function is to provide a structured working platform to assist trainee A. D. I.s in studying for the Driving Standards Agency part one Theory Test (multiple choice element). It does this by means of a series of comprehensive quizzes, complete with answers, based upon the required reading necessary to ensure a sound basic knowledge which will lead to a first time pass. There are in fact nine hundred formally set multiple choice questions rather than the one thousand and one implied by the title. The other one hundred and one are questions which may be in the mind of an aspiring instructor which hopefully are answered elsewhere in this and other books by this author. The nine hundred questions comprise seven blocks of one hundred each complete with correct answers together with two mock tests of a further one hundred each complete with correct answers and assessments. To get maximum benefit from this book the trainee is advised to work through the series of questions progressively by seeking the answers in the various reference books recommended for study by the D. S. A. By this means the trainee will effectively cover all the required reading to ensure eventual success in the theory test. As an added incentive a section has been included which sets out briefly the benefits of being a driving instructor. It may be useful to help those who are unsure about the profession to decide whether or not it is worth pursuing. This book costs a fraction of a single ADI training session, but it will be money well spent. You will learn quicker. You will need fewer training sessions. It will save you money. Contributor Bio: Duggan, James JIM DUGGAN spent almost a quarter of his working life in the driver training business both as a first class driving instructor and latterly involved in the training of instructors. He started off initially as a franchised instructor with a medium sized driving school, but within a year graduated to owning his own school. After a further couple of years and having gained more experience in the business he moved into what he felt was the even more interesting business of training driving instructors. He recalled his own experience of the training he received as being less than informative in this respect. He later concluded that the reason was because the training establishment he attended wanted to sign the trainees up to some kind of franchise deal. Most trainees were coming from industry based backgrounds and this would be their first venture into actually being responsible for their own future and running a business, albeit on a small scale. Training was frequently interrupted with asides which tried to deal with their underlying concerns and Jim realised that doing so in such a piecemeal fashion was not really in keeping with the professional approach he was trying to develop He decided to keep a file detailing all the various concerns of the trainees and proceeded to develop comprehensive written answers to all their queries. Over a period of time this file grew to be more than just a few written handouts. The usefulness and benefits of the notes were fairly well appreciated, but he wanted to make the information they contained available to a wider audience and, in the interests of reassuring all who had ambitions to become a driving instructor, pass on his knowledge and experience to as many potential trainees as possible. By now the internet was becoming established as the most prolific source of information the world has ever known and so with the help of a rather talented good friend he created a website to do just that. The result was www.driversworld.co.uk which went on-line in 2006. However, due to the amount of hours required to administer such a website it has now been closed and replaced by www.itsadriversworld.com offering digital versions of his various publications regarding driver training. However, there are still many who would in fact prefer to work from a traditional book so here it is - 'THE DRIVING INSTRUCTOR BUSINESS'.
