An Aid to Learning the Cherokee Syllabary Norman Styers Ph D

We learn by fitting new information into the framework of what we already know. Part of the difficulty of learning the Cherokee language is that it differs so much from English and other Indo-European languages. This small book presents a way of learning the Cherokee syllabary that presents only a few characters at a time. Short, meaningful words are introduced to encourage the building of a new framework. The result? The syllabary can be learned more readily and retained more lastingly.
