The setting is England in the early 1700s. A baby is born, the bastard son of an English nobleman. The father, Lord Rockfort and his friend Lord Howard, plot to remove the child to save his life and secretly arrange for the boy to be raised by Lord Howard at Castle Norfolk. A few years later, a beautiful baby girl, Elizabeth, is born to Lord and Lady Howard.
