"Hemingway in High School" reveals one exciting adventure after another. Oak Park/River Forest High School was within walking distance. Ernest learned his lessons well. His senior English class was run like a newspaper, which prepared him for his future work as a journalist in Kansas City and Toronto. His outstanding writing style begins here. His stories appear in "Tabula" and he had a riot as editor of the school newspaper, "Trapeze". When boredom sets in, some outrageous pranks were perpetrated with Hemingway planning most of them; namely, runaway rockets in back of the school, the tasty still in Chem lab, and sex education was never better when he pranked the school board, the principal, and the entire student body with a showing of where baby pigs come from. Highly stoked news about WWI impacted the high school causing the community to rally for the war effort. The family was in constant uproar as is exposed in this previously untold, riveting drama of family disputes.
