Mary Winston is an English lawyer hired by Templeton & Moore in New York City, days away from becoming a partner. Busy with her legal duties, she spends little time relaxing, living life dispassionately and responsibly. George, her husband of only a year, playfully attempts to help Mary relax at their get-a-way cottage in upstate. He is all too successful, as he teasingly, lulls Mary to sleep and prods her dreams to expand into full-fledged-fantasies that refuse to release her. Mary suffers through an alternate reality that draws her hopelessly into the world of Leprechauns, whispering cats and pirates. Completely lost as detective extraordinaire to mysteries and adventures that unfold, seemingly, without end, Mary Winston must solve each case before she is allowed to return to reality. There are three adventures presented as short stories: The Curse of the 'Chaun, The Night of the Whispering Cat and The Trouble With Pirates.
