This is a yearly devotional with daily inspirational readings. This devotional book is designed to enhance Biblical knowledge while developing an intimate relationship with God. This book looks at life in the following stages: (a) years of preparation (YOP), (b) the maturation years (YOM), and (c) the preservation and perpetuation (YOPP). Preparing a child for a lifetime of commitment to Christ begins at birth and continues until death, as the believer never stops growing in Christ. According to the Manual for Nurture for Baptist Churches, a person's spiritual growth is broken down as follows: From birth to 18 years of age are the years of preparation (YOP); ages 19-30 are the maturation years (YOM); and ages 31 until death are the preservation and perpetuation years (YOPP). I, however, prefer to break out the preservation and perpetuation years into two groups to include the winter season of one's life. This incorporates Titus 2 men and women, as men are to "be sober, grave, temperate, sound infaith, charity, in patience" (v 2). Likewise, aged women are to have the same type of behavior, according to verses 3 and 4, so they can teach the younger women to be sober and love their husbands.
