Liz Johnson, a quiet widow, moved to The Villages retirement community and within a week is discovered by Frank Brandon, a man who bedeviled her when they were in first and second grade. But Frank's seemingly unchanged, boisterous exterior belies a depth of character and a love of literature that is only belatedly discovered by Liz, well after she's booted him out of her home and perhaps her life.
