The Tennessee Event
Ralph Bowden
In this 'unexplained impossible event' novel, Sharon, age 10, lives with her older brother and mother in a farmhouse in rural Tennessee. A high voltage TVA power line runs across their back field. On the first big snow day of the winter, Sharon, out reveling in the snow, is somehow cloned when something happens to the power line above. The rest of the book deals with how a variety of people - the mother, brother, an adult friend, and a group in California, including an accountant, the dean of a Catholic College, a history professor at the college, and a graduate student they assign to investigate, react to and try to understand and/or hide this event.
