The Thirteenth Journey is a fast-paced page turner, an adventure novel with spiritual overtones. The story is told primarily from the viewpoint of a "guide" who travels with a client from one city to another in a world where travel is rare -- and deadly. The guide is a professional traveler who takes clients from one city to another. In this world, travel is deadly dangerous. He receives a unique visit from 'the prophet' -- the spiritual leader of the community. The prophet gives a surprising direction regarding the guide's next journey. The guide is the best of the best. His client for this journey is a very important man; their adventure begins very quickly. They immediately confront the dangers of the wilderness. The guide has 'tricks' that he has learned to avoid these dangers, but which come with dangers of their own. The Thirteenth Journey will take the reader through the twists and turns of the guide's journey seen through several different perspectives. Just as anything good generally comes with a price, there are some moments of intensity and darkness. In the end, this book is a powerful and uplifting tale. It is filled with deep connection between the characters, spiritual imagery and messages that can truly and deeply impact the reader. It reflects the journey from being caught up in material, worldly concerns to seeing life and relationships as the things that are truly meaningful. This novel consists of approximately 40,000 words, similar in size and subject to novels such as Illusions by Richard Bach, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho or The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis. Enjoy the journey.
