The Polygons
Scottt Raven
An intimate and odd collage of Surrealist Poetry that word plays with expectations written using various literary techniques like stream of consciousness, word association, multi-syllabic rhyme, letter personification and portmanteau name punning. The process began during a creative writing workshop in 2001 at Rutgers University, inspired by the work of John Yau, the Oulipo and Salvador Dali. Poem topics include colors, numbers, shapes, elements, sauces, amusement park rides, celebrity deaths and stand-up comedians. Certain poems are for mature audiences only. Most poems were written without thinking, but all poems require thought.
