My name is Merry. My favorite color is midnight blue; the color of the sky in the stillest part of the night when the stars peek through. I like pizza. Okay, I love pizza. Extra cheese, light on the sauce, well done with lots of garlic. I love to read and I live vicariously through the characters in the books I read, whether it be Chaucer or Bronte or King or Rowling. I like movies that other people don't watch because they're obscure or terrible or serial killer documentaries. I watch them because they remind you of all of the terrible, awful things this world is truly capable of producing. I'll take an apple pie over a cake and Oreos and skim milk over just about everything. I'm a person. I have a bad heart. But I don't have a bad heart. I'm capable of loving and hating and crying and laughing and even though I'm leaving this world faster than most everyone, we are ALL dying. I've spent my years sitting back and watching the time slip through the hourglass while you all rushed around fulfilling dreams you used to have or were told to have. I've been fortunate enough to watch a rose bud come alive and open into the most beautiful, perfect flower. I've been fortunate enough to see that flower lose its petals as they dried and slipped from the grasp of the stem onto the ground and become the mulch that protects the roots, so the rose can bloom again next year. I've seen little boys and girls learn to ride their bikes, and then learn to drive a car, and learn to love and be loved. I am so much more than my bad heart. I've fought hard to get to this point, and now that I'm here and I love my life, I'm leaving it.
