"Whispering Quail and the Lost Ankh Ring" tells the story about Peter Faris, a bitter and angry man with a bad past. His grieving wife dies from guilt when their only son is abducted off their front porch. After years of living like a mean hermit, his life gets turned around when a friendly boar named Professor Thackeray Biggs shows him the road to kindness and humility. They travel back to another realm where time stands still. Peter searches the past to find his wife, yearning to start life over again, but his journey is thwarted by an evil sorceress, and a conniving thief. Both are on a quest for a powerful ancient ring that Peter had stolen for his wife many years ago. The story continues when five young teens, Alfie, Butch, Freddie, Penelope and Zoe enter Peter's life and accidentally take the ancient ring. They end up traveling back to the year 1936 where their stories intertwine and the lines of spiritual communications are shaken making it difficult to return.
