Girl on a Swing Mary Leask
Girl on a Swing
Mary Leask
This mystery is one of discovery: a puzzle you might say. And of course, it is summertime, so there is a romance. Tourists abound in downtown Toronto, Canada. Above their heads silken banners float from every lamp post. Stamped on each banner is the picture of a nineteenth century blue and gold vase. Only one side is shown containing a picture of a young lover pushing a laughing young woman on a swing. People are invited to come and see the vase on display in a nearby ceramic museum and to guess what is on the hidden side. A prize is offered to the winner. Why then would a young American woman collapse on seeing the vase? Why would an exhausted Crown Prosecutor agree to assist her and why would a young reporter be interested?
