This hard-boiled detective story with a supernatural twist takes place in a fictional city in New York called Elysium and follows an investigator, Jake Achilles, torn by a murder case involving a beautiful woman so beguiling that even goddesses are jealous of her allure. With his partner, Kruger Odysseus, they venture into a case filled with mystery as they stumble into a super-gang trying to take over the city. The smoking hot Helen has something to do with it, but is bound by a ring the goddesses force her to wear, known as The Ring of Gallows. What will happen if she falls in love, and sets free a curse of Hell on Earth? This tale riffs on classic Greek poem: Achilles is a detective instead of a warrior for example, while Odysseus, instead of being the leader of Ithaca, is his partner in (fighting) crime. Helen, as Helen of Troy, heads up the cast as the sexy siren in this somewhat cinematic-style book.
