I Belong to the Wind

Poetry for children by Jan Darrow.
Inspired by Jessie Willcox Smith's artwork (which is included in this book), this collection of poetry was written for children (age 4 and up), but may be enjoyed by anyone young at heart.
This artwork was originally included in "A Child's Garden of Verses," (c) 1905 by Robert Louis Stevenson. I Belong to the Wind: poetry for children
Excerpt. (c) Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved THE PRINCESS AND THE BEARS Sometimes I dress up in a gown
of sparkling glitter, princess crown and walk among my scattered bears
that sit alone in teatime chairs politely drinking teatime tea,
they wait for princess words from me. You are my bears that's true I say
my loyal subjects on this day I grant to you one special wish
you all may have a special dish. Oh yes, oh yes, a special dish
of Gummy Worms and Swedish Fish! The bears jump up and march around
they sing and cheer the loudest sound is heard across my kingdom fair
where marching singing bears are rare.
