"El giróscopo y los signos" es el poema que surge del parpadeo revelador en que por un instante "intenso, inmenso" el mundo se nos asoma a los ojos "como si el sol sólo saliera a veces" en el remolino fugaz de imágenes y signos Sorprendida, la mirada recorre ese segundo de siglos y de historia y alcanza a vislumbrar esencias y rincones "hasta el final del árbol y del sueño, hasta el sabor del agua y el color de las hojas", para quedar pasmada en la ceguera que iluminó el instante. "The gyroscope and the signs" is the poem born out of that flicker in which for an "intense, immense" instant the world pokes us in the eye "as if the sun came out only sometimes" in the swirl of images and signs. Surprised, our sight covers in a second centuries and history, getting a glimpse of essences and hideouts, "the depths of sleeping, the flavor of the water, the color of the leaves," astonished in a blindness lit for an instant.
