Jacob, a young boy in 26 A. D. Jerusalem, lives with his father, Jaron, mother, Miriam, and sister, Adara, inside the City of David. Their home and potter's shop are located in the Lower City. Roman power and regulations affect their life every day as they attempt to live their lives in accordance with the God of their Fathers and the history of their people. Jaron's boyhood friend Neriah is a teaching priest with many contacts within the Sanhedrin as well as Jacob's teaching rabbi. Jacob, his relatives and his rabbi will experience "The Way" from encounters with the Son of God, through His disciples, friends and strangers. Jacob hears these stories and tries to associate them with his learning of the Torah, as he prepares for his coming adulthood. The time will come when Jacob must make the ultimate decision of his life; whether to follow in the footsteps of his forefathers and the way of living he has come to love and cherish, or to join the followers of this new prophet who seems to speak the very words of the One True God!
