I tell everyone I meet that they will learn more about the Bible and Ancient Hebrew thought from Egypt than they will from Israel. People think I am crazy ... until they tour with me, or until they hear one of my lectures on tying Ancient Egypt to Ancient Israel. So many of the ideas, idioms, thoughts, and even images in the Bible come from Ancient Egypt. The main reason I love Ancient Egypt is because of the real, right in front of you, and written in stone evidence of God's hand in scripture. You can see the Bible written on the walls of the temple at Karnak, the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and the painting of Beni Hassan. This book is the first in a series of book on Ancient Egypt and Early Christian Egypt where I draw messages for us today from these ancient sources and thought. I love Egypt and its history, I hope you will understand why and learn to love it too!
