It stems from an encounter from her childhood with a mysterious phantasm that everyone she has known doubts really happened.

Rider Hague is an expert in the occult and is a college professor who has spent most of his life researching the root causes of things that go bump in the night. But a chance meeting (or is it?) with a beautiful woman has led him into a world of darkness and evil he never believed existed.
