Margret "Bitsy" Hollister--bright, dedicated, familyoriented, and with her whole life ahead of her--earns her Oregon Fish and Game Warden's badge, and moves back to her grandfather's ranch outside of Burns to settle into her new jurisdiction. Happy to be back in the company of her family and friends, including Grandpa's trusted ranch hand Steve, Bitsy begins her service in eastern Oregon's pristine high desert wilderness. With the assistance of the local Sheriff's office, Bitsy learns the ropes and soon becomes everyone's favorite resourceful young warden. As her training gets underway, the rigors of the job--including hand-to-hand combat with guys almost twice her size and with little to lose--leave Bitsy wondering if she has what it takes to play the roles of conservationist, law enforcement officer, dutiful granddaughter, friend and even paramour all at the same time.
