Star grew up on the beautiful, peaceful planet of Celestia. She is about to embark on her first lesson in Human Studies.

She believes her father died in an accident on a routine journey to Earth seven years ago. His body was never found, and her mother refuses to give up hope he's still alive.

Her father had begun questioning the morals/ethics of the Committee - was this the cause of his disappearance?

Her cousin, Orion, is on Earth. He knows something about what happened but can only communicate with Star using telepathy. Will he be able to reach her across the vast chasm of space to tell her what really happened before dark forces close in?
