An unhappy child and parents at odds were not what Sophie Robertson expected when she agreed to tutor Freddie Ryken. Sophie thought she'd enjoy an idyllic summer in the pristine wilderness of the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Instead she found herself in an uncongenial household which she struggled to understand, with an uncooperative child whom she must somehow make her friend. That she succeeded was a tribute to both her and Freddie.
