The Clever Caterpillar faces a dual dilemma of determining whether to become a butterfly, or remain a caterpillar. The realization of his decision meets head on with his best friend, Majesty, and enemies. His most common enemy is the Stinkbug, however, a new enemy has moved into his neighborhood, The Black-headed Grosbeak. These enemies play a vital role in shaping his self-concept, as they team up to capture The Clever Caterpillar. Although he earned his name, Clever Caterpillar, from other animals for his craftiness in outsmarting the enemy, The Grosbeak is a new enemy he has never challenged before. The Clever Caterpillar With The Broken Antenna, caused by his ongoing conflict with The Stinkbug, knows that a day will arrive when he must become aware of the circumstances, new enemies, bring him to the conclusion, laws of average take a toll and capture inevitable, unless he allows himself to fully self-actualized into a butterfly.
