Two years ago I sat down with an elderly couple to hear their story after being told by several people that they were living proof that true love exists. I put my tape recorder down on their kitchen table and listened as they each gave an account of how they met and fell in love. It was a story about a man with a rough past, a woman with a bad reputation, an autistic child, and a blind goat, whose lives all came together in one of the greatest love stories I've ever heard. The pages in this book are their words transcribed verbatim.
