Fleeing her life for a short break, Charlotte Ross, along with her best friend, visit her aunt in the sleepy town of Raven's Caw, Michigan. Charlotte hopes to recover from a recent split with her fiancé, and Jane, a new mystery writer, is looking forward to somewhere relaxing.

But life has different plans for the two friends as they get swept up in a whirlwind of romance, mayhem, and murder when they discover links between a recent crime and one that happened twelve years earlier. Now the young women must race against the past in an effort to solve the crimes before one of them finds herself the next victim.
