Supermodel Ramona Upton collapses on the sidewalk in front of a trendy Manhattan nightspot and is pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly afterwards, a mannequin made in her image is found, drowned and dismembered.

Called in by the mannequin's designer Hercule Zefferrelli, amateur sleuth and Chic Chick fashion editor Bonnie Nash begins to track a killer whose hate for supermodels is only matched by the depravities he commits on their lookalike mannequins.

Bonnie has no shortage of suspects. There's Glyn Harrison, a notorious modelizer, Owen Daniels, founder of Hot List Models, Bruce Fitzgibbons, who blames the modeling industry for the anorexia that killed his sister. Then again, journalist Josh Hartley had been stalking Ramona prior to her death-could he have decided to create his own headlines?
