Rift Weavers, a Novel in Parts Tom Tate

Rift Weavers deftly combines science fiction, fantasy adventure and 21st Century military combat. The series follows the adventures of Finn Stockton as he comes to grips with his heretofore nascent ability to wield magic and wield it powerfully. It isn't long before he clashes with a Mage, Bar'aq, from another world who has plans to subjugate the planet Earth. To make matters worse, Finn becomes the target of the Weavers Guild, a self-appointed, intensely bureaucratic and inflexible organization devoted to managing rift travel and maintenance who have received falsified reports of his actions on Earth from a Guild member working there. Cast into the interstitial void between rifts following a fight with Bar'aq on Earth, Finn is saved from drifting endlessly through that void by his Irish Wolfhounds. It isn't long before he begins to "acquire" traveling companions and sets forth on a series or quests and adventures. Hounding his quests are creatures send to destroy him by Bar'aq. The Guild and American military forces soon clash with Bar'aq and his minions, setting the stage for a conflict that will rage over many planets and through the very void between the rifts themselves.
