A bizarre illness is also weaving its way throughout small towns and big cities alike; its victims marked by insanity, violence, murder, and suicide. Against this grim backdrop, a resilient group of like-minded individuals retreats to a 20 acre off-the-grid compound. Armed with tools, knowledge, skills, and a desire for community, they attempt to survive isolation and a bitter Montana winter in a world that has gone mad.
