This volume is a continuation in the series of the books of The Fairy Queen, originally by Edmund Spenser. This is Book 3, originally titled The Legend of Britomartis, or of Chastity. This volume's presentation is rather true to the original and more so than the independent volumes, Book 1 and Book 2 of the series -- The Story of the Redcrosse Knight and The Legend of Sir Guyon, respectively -- compiled and worked here by Patricia Spencer. These works are not noted as series in any book index however, as the series is loosely implied in continuation of the entire story.
