At 6500 ft. the trail passes through a medieval like primordial Rhodedenrum forest. At 10,000 ft. the full splendor and majesty of the Annapurna range makes itself known. From 13,000 ft. to the Thorong La Pass at 17,500 ft. the physical demands of the ascent are incredibly challenging. Beyond the pass the descent is into the Kali Gandaki River Gorge a desolate no-man's land of stark beauty.
