The Way of the Gray follows the life of Garrüdd. A viking child who watches his family get butchered by an ogre King and it's Blood Horde. He gets found and adopted by a half-elf and is taught a life of honor and discipline. Later, named Garrüdd the Red, he becomes the greatest warrior in the known world and best friend of the King of all the lands, Medjekydn. Garrüdd gets courted by the sister of his best friend, the king. They are discovered and he is forced, once again to abandon all he knows with the woman he loves. With much of his life behind him, half of which was in exile, his wife now dead, he embarks on a quest to slay an ancient dragon or die in glory and enter the halls of Valhalla.
