Little Brown Eyes

If you have a child or know of a child with disabilities, this book is for you. Our son had Cerebral Palsy. He lived for 20 years. In that time we grew from complete novices to, dare we say, "experts" in dealing with children with disabilities. This book covers everything we've learned: discovery, accepting, overcoming, the impact on the family and siblings, medical issues, emotional issues, educational concerns, adapting our lives, living above "survival", dealing with the medical field, the insurance nightmares, hospitals, special equipment, seizures, braces, equipping our home, and raising a little boy into a well-adjusted loving young man, right up until... We lost him...and had to learn to cope with grief, with what many say is the worst kind of loss, losing a child. Sadly, we became "experts" at that also. For the twenty years of his life we learned to take the worst of circumstances and transform them into positive and uplifting experiences for him and for our family. In the years after his passing we learned to handle the utter devastation and transform it into something from which we were able to escape bitterness and survive, transformed. The second part of the book is about that transformation.
