EJ Johnson is in love and finally starting her life long time love John Markham in Philadelphia just as the tarot cards had told her, she thinks. But moving from Tyler, Texas to the City of Brotherly Love has some big surprises in store the least of which is Michael Atter, her nemesis and love of her life. Meanwhile Janet Davis, EJ's best friend and confidant, is dealing with troubles of her own, namely a philandering husband. Janet is a hilariously foul mouthed mother of two boys trying to support her bestie as she navigates the roller coaster of life but finds she is on her on wild ride. She finally asks EJ to do a tarot spread for her and the results lead to Janet finally getting her 'mad on'. EJ and Janet have been best friends for as long as either can remember and for as long as either can remember their mothers have hated each other.
