Seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us (Heb. 12:1-2). This book reveals that even the greatest men or women in the bible experienced times of anger, fear, and desert times. Yet, they all had one thing in common. They saw the Lord before them and pressed on to the joy that was set before them. Looking at Jesus and His earthy family, we see the thief that came to steel their joy. First the joy of marriage when Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant. Then the word that Herod was planning to kill their son. Then the death of Joseph and the pain Mary went through seeing her Son crucified...yet for the joy set before them, they endured. So can we. Jesus left us an inheritance. We must enter into it. Joy is God's gift to us!!!
