A piano on its "last legs", sitting outside of an eclectic music academy, invites the public to "play me ... for free!" Would that our lives in our last moments sing such a song of legacy to those around us, even those who meet us just for the last few breaths. Inspired by a visit to the Black Tie Music Academy on Daniel Island, Charleston, SC, "A Piano on Hospice" is an essay freely flowing with meditations on how we sing our last notes. Illustrated by a young impressionable budding artist, proceeds of this book will go directly to the Academy toward giving the public access to music lessons and instruments to further spark creativity.
