Beijing Shanghai the Track
M Gilbert Costa
In modern China, a perilous track will take us from Beijing to Shanghai by way of Quiamen, Hainan and Haiphong. Yan, young 31-year-old woman, police officer in office in the Central Police Station in Beijing is suddenly invited to join the Office of Internal Affairs, the Chinese secret services. Her mission: conduct, in complete secrecy, an inquiry on a subversive organisation whose leader is someone close to the power. Very soon, in the grip of violent actions, she starts a chase but, too isolated, falls into a trap and becomes prisoner in the middle of a war between two gangs. Injured, she will be forced to pass the torch on to her former team-mate, Cheng. The track goes on, intense and merciless. After he has escaped death a few times, Cheng will be able to meet the whole Division Action of the Office of Internal Affairs right on time, and be part of the final operation Spring Cleaning in Shanghai.
