The Song of the Ocean Gianna Perugini
The Song of the Ocean
Gianna Perugini
Future marine biologist Lily is excited about a trip around the Atlantic coast of North America with scientists and friends. Life on board the Dolphin Dancer, however, gets off to a rocky start. Lily's long-distance boyfriend dumps her over the phone. Lily is crushed, until she makes a special connection with a lonely, injured Atlantic bottlenose dolphin. Her friendship with the dolphin, Melody, will change her life forever.
Author Gianna Perugini shows the special bond that forms between dolphins and humans as Lily and her friends-Jenny, Roxy, and Rose-try to heal the little dolphin.
As Melody slowly recovers from her injuries, she proves to be a curious and goofy young dolphin. Lily loves Melody, but when Melody gets into trouble on the boat, Lily will have to stick up for her new friend.
On their adventure, Lily, Melody, and their friends encounter an aggressive bull shark, frightening storms, and a shipboard emergency! They also see a variety of marine creatures, including Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, tiger sharks, nurse sharks, loggerhead turtles, and whales.
Lily and Melody invite you to jump on in and discover for yourself just how special the relationship between humans and animals can be.
