Ian visits a country in Southern Africa with his grandparents. In a village where Father Dominic is the doctor and priest, he meets Seya, the daughter of the chief. Simon and Eugene are looking for a treasure. They call in the help of a sorcerer who casts a spell on Seya and Ian. How the children discover the pyramid when followed by Simon, Eugene and sorcerer. The children's connection to the pyramid: in a dream they see they were technicians belonging to the red race. Who is who in the story and in the dreams? When Simon and Eugene steal the apex, the children promise to take it back. When, where and how did Ian get his magical powers? In a dream he sees he was once the son of the traditional chief, an apprentice sorcerer. The children fulfill their promise and take the apex back to the pyramid.
