Her plan to switch professions, thus abandoning her involvement in dangerous missions, is interrupted by a mysterious phone call. What begins in Fiji with a wrong number evolves into another compelling mission to investigate the death of a governor in the United States. Tangie, with Walter by her side, returns to Seattle and is side tracked to resolve a family crisis, involving the disappearance of her brother. After recovering from that adventure, she and Walter travel to another port of call-Newport, Rhode Island-this time to track an assassin, under the pretense of visiting Walter's beloved aunt. There, Tangie and Walter become entangled in a complex web of political deceit and corruption that threatens to extinguish their lives as well as the lives of their friends and their beloved Aunt Hattie. Their involvement in this undertaking becomes complicated, as they have no tangible proof of corruption and assassination beyond Tangie's word, her visions and her psychic abilities, which even she begins to doubt.
