The book of Daniel is retold here in a more modern way, with the addition of several characters that came into contact with Daniel. Though it is a work of fiction, the story follows faithfully the Biblical account. Live through the experiences of a conquered people as they are forcefully removed from their homes and resettled in a foreign land. Experience the daily trials and conflicts many of them face. Susannah is a beautiful young woman who must endure many different trials, yet she remains virtuous and faithful through them all. She is rescued from death by her friend Daniel, and survives to find a more fulfilling life. Daniel and his three friends also face many obstacles and problems in their roles as servants to the king. They too, remain strong and steadfast through seemingly impossible odds. Each attempt to discredit them fails to do so, and invariably causes problems for the instigators of their difficulties. Eventually, this conquered people overcome their state of exile and return once more to their native land.
