This unit is all about Holidays Around The World, and it is recommended to be used in December. This unit is divided in four segments and it explores the different traditions practiced during Christmas, Hanukah, Chinese New Year, Kwanzaa and Japanese celebrations all around the world. This unit is full of activities, included but not limited to fill your learning centers with a variety of art projects, math and science ideas, dramatic play area and other areas. These activities will help children to understand that people celebrate holidays in different ways and to learn the traditions and the history of each celebration. Each segment includes a complete planning web and goal. All activities are described in great detail and have been tested in a preschool classroom.
