Roger and the Sleeping Beauty Luckett Bell
Roger and the Sleeping Beauty
Luckett Bell
In the second and concluding part of this tale Roger and his friends accept a twofold challenge: to help in the ordering of Cockaigne's defences against an evil and ruthless enemy, and to attempt the apparently impossible rescue of the Crown Princess. As they follow the course of these challenges they find themselves faced with foes human (amongst which they encounter an old enemy) and inhuman. They must then go on to confront an incarnation of total evil, a confrontation that leads on to a forlorn-hope battle followed by the most desperate of rescue missions. Courage and comradeship are pitted against horror and death - and worse than death. Through it all runs the theme of Giles' hopeless love for a woman of another world.
